People Are Awesome: The Sequel Is a Great Reminder That, In Spite of Everything, People Are Basically Awesome.
It was a totally ordinary day. Really nothing special.
I was grocery shopping and watched an elderly women crash her shopping cart into the posteriors of an elderly man. She quickly began to apologize. He smiled, laughed at her saying: "Hey don't worry nothing happend." The two began to chat a bit.
I walked at the checkout there was a woman with quite a lot of groceries, another women came with only a few and in a matter of seconds the first one asked if she wants to be first.
I don't know why that trip made me smile so much, I looked around and just saw people friendly talking to each other and although I am not a people person and did not know any of them I felt at home.
Another thing I wish would have happened on the same day for the sake of story telling but did happen a few months earlier:
Other store. Some guy was at the checkout and realized that he did not have enough money to pay his things. Two people behind him in line simultaneously reached in their pocket and pulled out the necessary amount of money. He gladly accepted the offer after some "I can't let you do this". One of the people giving the money actually is my to-be-mother-in-law. She did not see me and I never spoke of it.
Well I guess grocery trips can cheer me up.
